What Is the SSW Program?

✅ Industries You Can Work in Under SSW

The SSW visa lets you work in 12 major industries where Japan really needs skilled people:

Types of SSW Visas

SSW Type 1

For workers with basic skills and Japanese language ability

🔧 For workers with basic skills and language ability
📅 You can work in Japan for up to 5 years
🚫 You cannot bring your family with this visa

🈶 Japanese Language Requirements

To qualify for SSW Type 1, you need to know basic Japanese — enough to talk, follow instructions, and live in Japan easily.

You must pass one of these tests:

JLPT N4 or higher
→ Can understand daily Japanese conversations

JFT-Basic
→ Measures your ability to live and work in Japan
