Interview: What’s Life at TechnoSmile in Japan Really Like?

How did you hone​stly feel before coming to Japan?

Vishnu-san:

Honestly, I felt a mix of excitement and worry. A new language, a different culture—I kept wondering, “Can I really handle this?” But looking back now, even those worries were a valuable part of the experience. Once I started living here, every day became full of learning and discovery.



TSI:

Was it tough to get used to life in Japan??

Vishnu-san:

At the beginning, yes, it was a little tough. Even just going to a convenience store felt nerve-wracking (laughs). But day by day, I got used to it, and now life feels really comfortable. 

Japan is safe, the transportation system is incredibly reliable, and shopping or eating out is always fun because there are so many choices. Plus, the mix of advanced technology with traditional culture is amazing—I’m constantly surprised by new discoveries.


TSI:

What’s the work environment at TechnoSmile like?

Vishnu-san:

Honestly, it’s really warm and welcoming! My colleagues are very kind, and whenever I have questions, they take the time to explain things clearly. Because of that, I feel secure and motivated to do my best every day.

What have you learned through your work ?  

Vishnu-san:

Japanese work culture

The work isn’t easy, but it’s challenging in the best way. Each task helps me grow, expand my skills, and learn something new. Working as part of a team here also showed me that it’s not just about technical skills—teamwork and discipline are just as important.


TSI:

What are your goals moving forward?

Vishnu-san:

Right now, I want to keep learning as much as I can. I’d like to use the skills I’m building here as a foundation for my future career. More than that, I want to carry lessons like discipline, teamwork, and cultural understanding with me wherever I go.​​


TSI:

Finally, what message would you give to someone who’s thinking about working in Japan?

Vishnu-san:

Honestly… I’d say just go for it! Sure, the beginning can be tough, but what you gain is huge. 

Japan offers a safe environment and supportive people, so you’ll definitely overcome the challenges. 

Living and working here will give you experiences and memories that will truly become treasures for life.​
